23 June 2010
1:30-2:45pm followed by optional World Cup game
Wokingham
We were delighted to invite you to the above event on 23 June covering tax changes for High Earners and England’s World Cup Campaign. Recently, the new coalition Government have come into power with the potential for changes to the position for high earners. An emergency budget will be held on 22 June and is likely to include new relevant information. Our event on 23 June is therefore the perfect opportunity to hear “hot off the press” what this means for you or your pension scheme.
High Earners
In the 2009 Budget, the Government announced fundamental changes to the way that pensions will be taxed from 2011 for high earners and introduced immediate measures designed to prevent individuals increasing their pension savings in anticipation of these changes.
Although the proposals are designed only to affect individuals with annual income over £130,000, their actual impact could be much more widespread and could mean that senior executives will be paying an additional 30% tax on the benefits their employers promise them.
We invite you to a Post-Budget Power Hour, where our team of experts will highlight what the proposals mean for your scheme, what updates there are from the emergency budget and how you might go about addressing them.
The sixty-minute session will include:
- Actions to be taken as a result of the updates announced in the 2010 Budget with further information from the emergency budget, including solutions and case studies.
- The anti-forestalling provisions, which are designed to stop additional contributions being made prior to 2011; what does this mean for your high earners?
- The “post 2011” proposals, and what this means for individuals’ and corporate benefits, in both a defined benefit and a defined contribution environment.
Recent attendees at this event in central London said:
- “All excellent – clear, concise, focused”
- “Excellent, thought provoking and succinct”
- “Very professional and knowledgeable
